Deadline reports that The Mysteries Of Harris Burdick, another trippy picture book by Jumanji author Chris Van Allsburg, is headed to the big screen after screen rights were acquired by Fox/Disney.

The book, originally published in 1984, depicts a series of images with a simple accompanying caption. Fourteen images in total, the book is often used as a creative writing prompt in classrooms, giving the studio plenty of opportunities in adapting it for the big screen. Rafe Judkins (The Division, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) is set to pen the script.

This marks the second of Van Allsburg’s works that Fox has optioned in recent weeks, with The Garden of Abdul Gasazi in the works from Goosebumps and Shazam! screenwriter Darren Lemke.

Garden was actually the first book written by Van Allsburg, who won a Caldecott Honor medal for his efforts and would later go on to publish “Jumanji” and “The Polar Express.” The book follows a young boy who tries to rescue a dog from the garden of the great magician Abdul Gasazi.

Both Jumanji and The Polar Express were adapted into feature films, with the former currently in the process of getting a second sequel due at Christmas this year.
